Weave was started in early 2021 to fill a gap in financial services for Canadians. Too often, when something breaks or needs to be replaced, people are forced to use credit cards and payday loans to finance it. What if there was a way to proactively pool and transfer this risk?

Most kinds of insurance have grown up from this exact need. Groups of people banded together to protect families, businesses and individuals from bad luck events. And in a world where so many people are barely getting by, even a "small" expense can be a major headache.

The name "Weave" comes from the way a safety net spreads out the risk and rescues people when they fall.
